Visit Glenwood Cemetery

Glenwood Cemetery is situated along Buffalo Bayou right outside of Downtown Houston. Established in 1871, Glenwood was laid out in the tradition of other “picturesque” rural cemetery parks of the 19th century. Glenwood’s expansive 88 acres are home to a beautiful assortment of trees, flowers, shrubbery, a variety of wildlife, and historic statuary.

Cemetery Gate Hours

The cemetery gates are open every day from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. When Daylight Savings Time is in effect, the gate closing is extended to sunset or 5:30 p.m., whichever is earlier. The cemetery is protected by security guards, and no visitors are permitted when the gates are closed.

Office Hours

The Glenwood office is located on the cemetery grounds and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on holidays.
