Docent-guided walking tours of Glenwood are available to individuals by reservation. Private tours for groups may also be arranged. Click here to make a reservation for one of the upcoming tour dates through the Preservation Houston website.
All times and dates are subject to change in the event a burial is scheduled on the date of the tour or in case of inclement weather. Time changes will be posted on this website and those holding reservations will be notified as far in advance as possible.
Please note the tours are walking tours and all vehicles will be left at the cemetery entrance. The route covers approximately 1.5 miles at a very leisurely pace. There are no public restrooms available on the property. Note that space on the tours is limited and reservations will be guaranteed on a first come, first served basis.
Glenwood is able to offer these tours through a collaboration with Preservation Houston.
The walking tours described on this page may also be arranged for private group visits on dates other than the scheduled walking tours. Please submit your request via e-mail or by telephone at least 15 business days in advance of your visit, and provide the following at the time of your request:
If the group will arrive in private cars, please specify the number of cars expected. Busses are not permitted to enter the cemetery. Bus passengers should plan to leave the bus outside the gates and walk into the cemetery. The bus may park and wait on one of the streets adjacent to the cemetery, subject to posted City of Houston parking regulations.
There are no public restroom facilities available at the cemetery. The times and dates of all walking tours are subject to change in the event a burial is scheduled on the date of the tour.
